What I Love Right Now

{My Neighborhood}

I'm am one lucky lady who walks past these iconic Seattle spots everyday on my walk to work. I wouldn't trade it for much right now...except maybe 3 days off in a row. I will always remember having the Space Needle in my front yard and views of the Sound from my roof. Yes, I am occasionally woken up by the singing homeless man in my alley and I pay more for parking than should even be legal. But, I wouldnt trade it for much.

I am one lucky lady.

For when you need to slow down...fast

"Time-when pursued like a bandit-will behave like one...At some point you have to stop because it won't. You have to admit that you can't catch it. That you're not supposed to catch it. At some point you gotta let go and sit still and allow contentment to come to you."
{Elizabeth Gilbert} in Eat Pray Love.

Note to self: Don't let the daily grind get you down. Slow down and enjoy something every day.

Sewing: Day 1

To say my first stitches looked like the work of a drunken sewer would be putting it very kindly. They zigged, and they zagged, and did everything but end up in a straight line....until I realized I didn't put the foot down on the machine. After that discovery, I can proudly report, my stitches went one by one in a straight line.

Here's to hoping Ruth Singer's "The Sewing Bible" can transform me into that chic seamstress I know is buried deep within. I have daydreams of makeup bags, pillows, lunch totes, and so so much more.

So, Ruth, I hope you're up for the challenge.
